Top 3 Reasons To Use Twitter

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Many times in life we may find ourselves going through the motions and not really realizing why we’re doing certain things or the benefits of doing them. Twitter can be like this sometimes, however I made a list of the top 3 reasons I use twitter to remind myself why I’m sharing with others my miscellaneous ramblings and why twitter has become so popular recently.

1. Get the most up-to-date information- Ever heard of the phrase “what have you done for me lately? Remember when that plane landed in the Hudson River in New York? Twitterers’ were the first to report that with live pictures. One of the big advantages of twitter is that it operates in real-time, so you know what’s going on right now. When you first start using twitter you may not know what to expect. One thing you can count on is that the information on twitter is the most current you can possibly get. Twitter will always be doing things for you lately. Keep in mind some of the most influential people and brightest minds in the world are using twitter. Barack Obama, Al Gore and many other business owners, marketers, bloggers and celebrities are regular tweeters as well so you can get access to information that you probably would not have otherwise or might take much more time to research.

2. Viral Conversation- like anything it may take some time to get the hang of twitter and find all the people you would like to follow. But once this happens twitter can become a very valuable and enjoyable tool. As you join the conversation and people get to know you, they may be able to give you some valuable insight and perspective about your situation. Of course, you would have to take the initiative and ask people most of the time, but like the saying goes “Ask and you shall receive”.

For example, if you are undecided about a certain product to buy, you can simply ask your followers if they have had any experience with the products you are considering. Chances are somebody will be able to give you some feedback that will help you make a more informed buying decision. Or you can ask about something more casual like which movie to go see. If you have some movie-watching followers they may give you some good feedback about their thoughts on some movies.

3. Market your business or yourself- if you have a website or blog like I do, you can utilize twitter to gain more notoriety and drive more traffic. For example, if you make a new blog post you can simply make a tweet telling people that you have made a new post and many people will click on the link in your tweet to read it. If you are an affiliate marketer, you can make a tweet about a coupon or update from a merchant that might help monetize your website as well. Make sure that you are making other tweets in the interim, there is nothing more annoying than following somebody who only says “hey go check out my blog” or “hey go to my website”, but just know that you can use twitter to build your business.

For those that don’t have a website or blog, you can simply use twitter to market yourself or build your brandname. Many employers are checking facebook and myspace pages nowadays to make a more informed decision about the candidates they may potentially hire. If they find you on twitter, it may give you another opportunity to make a good impression and show them you are socially conscious, which is always a good thing. Also keep in mind that people are much more likely to buy things from people they know, so if you are selling anything or plan to sell anything in the future, twitter can definitely be beneficial to you in this way as well.

The bottomline is that twitter is more than just telling people about what you are doing. I would recommend starting off slowly to see what others are doing and how they utilize twitter. Then as you gradually get the hang of it, you can get more involved and it will become much easier. You should be advised that twitter can get very addicting though, and like everything I would also recommend using twitter in moderation.

As a general rule, the more people that you follow, the more people will follow you. So you might have to do some legwork in the beginning and do some searches to find people. Search for topics that you are interested in and you will find tons of interesting people to follow that will provide valuable information. Chances are that many of these people will follow you back. This will be well worth the time because the more people that you have to converse with, the more enjoyable twitter will be for you.

Keep in mind though that content is king in twitter, so don’t forgot to make good tweets and people will find you. You can also re-tweet other comments that you think people will be interested in, just make sure to keep their @name in the beginning of it so the person that made the original tweet will get credit for it.

Some will still prefer to socialize with only people that they know on FaceBook or MySpace, which I can understand. Many others will probably think they are too cool for twitter. I would argue that you can get to know people pretty well through socializing with them on the internet and that many people thought they were too cool for MySpace and Facebook when they first came out and now more than 30 million people have a FaceBook account. Whichever you prefer, it’s all about being social and having fun. Thanks for reading and hope to catch up with you soon!

How to Earn Money by Blogging – The Simple Guide

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

If you want to learn how to blog, there are some certain things you need to put into consideration. It is possible for you to create money online using niche blogs. You can easily create your own blog and start earning residual income for yourself online. If there is a niche you have in mind it will be better if you focus on that particular niche till you have done well with it, after that you can then migrate to another lucrative niche. In fact, the reason why some bloggers and online marketers don’t succeed is because they fail to target what works.

This is the reason why niche or blog marketing is so saturated and you will get the best out of it if you target a working niche. You would earn a lot of money and get targeted traffic if you focus on a particular product or service. This justifies the reason why some online bloggers earn money exploiting it. Some persons believe that multi-tasking is the best method but it’s not. The most working way is to target one particular thing and carry it out well.

The best way to be a better blogger is to find out if the niche you want to blog about is in demand. It could be a product or a service. In order to determine this, you should begin with keyword research to discover the number of people that are looking for the niche of your choice. To earn bigger money you need an idea that will outdo other marketers. Blogging requires time and effort in order to test and learn new things.

You need to be wary of competition. If the niche you are marketing is highly competitive, then you might find it hard to earn money from it. The best way to surpass your competitors is to find long tail keywords pertaining to your niche and use it. It is easier to get traffic from long tail keywords for your blogging.

After you have found the less competitive niche which you feel you won’t get stocked on the way, then you should start blogging. You need to invest meaningful time working on your blog. Post new contents daily on the blog, if you can’t make it daily, then twice or thrice weekly is okay.

You can promote traffic to your blog by article writing, forum posting, add your comments at other blogs similar to yours with a link back to your blog, press release and the rest of others. Majority of these techniques when applied the right way work greatly. You will find it easy to earn money on the internet using these accessible techniques.

Blogging to the Bank is a site that unveils techniques which you can use to earn a lot of money from blogging. You can earn up to a thousand buck from applying the secrets offered by them.

Make Money Writing Blogs

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

A good portion of my salary comes from generating money from other blogs that I run. I KNOW this is a profitable industry and one that can bring you success. The best part about making money from blogging is it is FUN and trust me once you start pulling in some cash, it becomes quite addicting as well! As usual with e-books (I’ll state this again and again) there is a large amount of garbage floating around the web. There are tons with recycled content that do nothing for everyday people like you and I.

I can say this from an expert point of view: Ron Benwell’s “Blogging to the Bank” is not your everyday e-book. Reading through the guide, anyone can use this. If you know how to use a computer well enough to do a Google search, I promise you that you can start making money using Ron’s strategy. Although even a beginner can pick it up, it is also dripping with expert advice.

Ron shows you how he (and all successful bloggers) drive heavy amounts of traffic to their site each month. With this program (and a little bit of effort) you can basically sit back and watch your blog rake in money. Once again, as someone who makes cash blogging, I promise you that you can do it as well. If nothing else I say can motivate you, at least check out his site to see what others are earning, I think that may change your mind.

Effective Ways To Get Your Blog Indexed

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Getting your blog indexed in the search engines can seem impossible sometimes. It can often be so random! One blog gets indexed in a matter of minutes, while another one takes weeks. While the search engines don’t reveal their exact formula for indexing, there are some methods that have been proven to work for many bloggers out there.

Of course, many people decide that the first thing they should do to get their blog indexed is to submit it to the search engines by hand. There is actually a lot of disagreement on this point! Some people think the search engines look upon this favorably, and other people think that hand submission can hurt you.

The bottom line here is that it really doesn’t seem to hurt your rankings, but it’s best to keep in mind that the search engines “know it’s you” who is submitting the site. What they want are votes of confidence from other established sites out there. That’s why it’s better to concentrate on those.

If you already have a network of sites then you have a huge advantage. All it takes is a relevant contextual link on one of those sites and you’ll often get indexed very quickly. This is especially true If you have access to a site that gets indexed often.

Not everyone has established sites, however! The good thing is that there are sites out there that allow you to put your content on their site. Article directories are one example. If you write an article for a site like EzineArticles.com with a link back to your site in the author’s resource box, the chances are good that you will get indexed fairly quickly. You can also add your content and links to sites like HubPages.com, Squidoo.com, and others.

Another thing you can do is make sure you submit your RSS feed to directories. There are RSS directories out there that alert people (and spiders) that your content has been updated. This can increase your chances of getting indexed. Some examples of sites you can submit to include Feedagg.com and Feedage.com.

Yet another piece of the puzzle is writing great content and updating often. There is no exact formula for this, but we do know that Google likes content! If you can write a few posts right off the bat to show that you’re going to be a great, relevant site, there is a larger chance that your site will get indexed.

If you still haven’t made it into the search engines it is going to take a bit more effort. Usually a combination of a few of these will work well. Also, a little bit of patience goes a long way. It’s not unusual to wait a week or more for the magic to happen! Still, by following the suggestions above you’ll find that you get indexed fairly quickly and often.

Blogging to the Bank-3 Steps to Create a Converting Blog Post

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

By now, you should know that blogging is a very good way to make money online. In fact there are many people right now on the internet that are making a full time income in doing so. A problem that some bloggers have is how to create a good blog post. Without a good blog post your blog will never get the point across.

Its one thing to get people to come to your blog, it is another to get people to stay and read your blog as well. In order to get people to stay and read your posts I would like to go over some ways that you can make changes to your posts so you can make the sales you need.

Here are some ways to keep your blog posts alive and people to want to keep coming back for more:

1. Attention Grabbers from Your Titles

The title says everything! With a boring headline, who would want to stick around to read your blog? When you are searching for some information online for lets say weight loss, would you choose the title “How to lose weight” or “7 Tips to Burn the Fat and Feed the Muscle for Life”? Obviously the second one because it seems more interesting.

Another thing, I know were trying to rank well in the search engines, but you can just go stuffing keywords into your titles as well. This can hurt you id every title has a keyword in it. You don’t want to look like your spamming keywords. Change the keywords up a bit.

2. Conversational Post

When you are writing your content, you do not have to worry about your teacher grading you on your work. You want to get your point across and the best way to do it is by talking to the people like they are your friends. Using a large vocabulary of words will sometimes intimidate people and will tend to leave your blog post.

Another thing, you should never try and sell anything in your posts because then people will tend to steer away from that as well.

3. Send Traffic to Your Blog Posts

To receive more credibility to your blog, you should take the URL to the post you just made and then send traffic to it. It is good to send traffic by using social bookmarking sites as you can receive a sudden urge of traffic that way.

You might have a wonderful blog set up. You have started to post concise and helpful information that your niche market would benefit from. The number of comments gradually decrease as days go by and your traffic towards your blog starts to fare badly. What will you do next?

How is your blog going to survive?

HINT: Believe it or not, blogs do require ongoing promotions.

Bear with me because in the next 3 minutes I’m going to share with you some free and powerful blog traffic resources that will make your blog attract traffic like bees to honey.

This article reveals 12 little-known blog traffic secrets that will help you to get more blog visitors, readers and customers:

1. Announce your blog to the world. Invite your kith and kin, friends, acquitances, clients, associates and

business colleagues in your network to subscribe.

2. Get spidered by the Yahoo search engine. Set up a feed on Yahoo.com – http://publisher.yahoo.com/submit.php

3. Make sure your blog’s URL is imprinted on your brochures, business cards and flyers.

4. Visit related blogs in your expertise area. Share healthy, bold, helpful comments (and ideas) and include alink back to your blog.

Keep in touch with other bloggers who are in your niche market. Avoid writing boring and seeming templated things like “good blog” or “wonderful post”.

5. Frequent posts attract your subscribers to come back and refer you to others in their networks; always include links to other articles, blogs and Web Sites in your posts.

6. Always link your blog in your email signature file.

7. Use Ping-0-Matic to ping blog directories every time you publish. Only ping blogs related to your content.

11. Every edition of your newsletter must contain a link to your blog, so every time you publish a new issue, insert a blog link.

12. Create a RSS (Rich Site Summary, or Really Simple Syndication) feed URL and let people subscribe to it.

NOTE: RSS is a document type that lists updates of Web Sites or blogs available for syndication. RSS documents (also known as ‘feeds’) may be read using aggregators (news readers). It either shows only headlines or both headlines and summaries.

In conclusion, your blog is a real gold mine. Make blogs work for you now, not later. Get more traffic to your blog and turn it into profits.

Why Blogs Equal Traffic

Five Simple Reasons why Blogging is the New Tool of Choice for Internet Marketing

Blogging began in the latter part of the 1990s when users started commenting on existing pages of a web site. It was a tool for visitors to the site who wanted to voice an opinion on the particular web site. What was once a comment in the form of a single sentence or two has now developed into numerous personal entries on page, or pages depending on the length and age of the blog, talking about practically everything and anything. As the world of blogging evolves, advertisers have realised the potential value of an online blog.

1. Blogging is easy.

It doesn’t take a techie to get your message across on the internet. The only skill a blogger needs is the ability to type and read, and perhaps the occasional click of a mouse. Blogging is basically an online version of a journal. You can scribble your thoughts, ideas and experiences on a virtual notepad for the purpose of enticing readers to try the product or service for themselves. By utilising your internet connection and a PC, you can unleash the power of blogs and online advertising.

2. Blogging is reliable.

In a world where advertising may not be as credible as the advertisers would have us believe, the power of blogs have allowed real-life experiences and testimonials to bring forward a new kind of credibility. The tried and tested approach is displayed at its best on blogs as writers share their experience of a product, whether positive or negative. Readers are able to draw their own conclusions based on the thoughts and recommendations of bloggers across the world.

3. Blogging costs nothing.

Blogging has not yet been measured as an online advertising tool for the mainstream media, and so far has been utilised as an additional marketing resource. Free web time is highly desirable for new businesses and with the large offering of free sites it is easy to increase visibility over the internet. It goes without saying that paid blogs have the ability to increase income for thriving businesses.

4. Blogging is good for your reputation.

Readers will begin to rely on your experiences of a product as you become and more and more adept in your bloggging.  You might be considered an expert of certain subjects, subsequently inviting more visitors your blog and potentially more links to other bloggers web sites. Your growth won’t go unnoticed as organisations begin to notice your popularity on the internet. You may soon find that these companies are willing to pay to advertise on your web site. You might even be invited to be an affiliate which would pay you for each and every referral that is generated through your web site.

5. Blogging increases your market.

The likelihood of increasing your blog’s popularity is severely restricted if you only rely on word-of-mouth, expecting friends and relatives to spread the word on your behalf. Unless you’re a celebrity, there is very little reason an internet user might visit the blog on your web site. You should utilise all of the following tools to increase your readership through blogging:

- E-mail.

Whilst e-mails have served their purpose for the use of communicating, many users do not want to log into their mail server and download e-emails one-by-one. In an ever-increasing age of quick access, the speed and delivery of a single blog site is preferred over e-mail. Try sending a short teaser e-mail to your recipients inviting them to click on to your blog. Remember that if the e-mail is generally talking about a different subject matter you need to offer a link to your blog so that you can start increasing the number of visitors to your site.

-Subscriptions.

By inviting regular visitors to your blog to subscribe to the site, you are gaining valuable e-mail addresses for potential future promotions and activity. It is important to protect the e-mail address of your users to ensure you are not seen as a spammer, ultimately resulting in bad comments on your web site. You should ensure that some subscriber-only information is kept available for only your subscribers in order to assure a benefit of signing up to the web site.

-Understand your audience.

Add a feedback section asking visitors to site to comment on their experience of navigating and reading your blog. By conducting a simple survey of your core readers, you will understand their preferences for products and services which can potentially increase advertising value. Online feedback surveys are a great, non-intrusive method of understanding your audience.

- Link up with other bloggers.

Linked blogs offer convenience to readers who are able to review several blogs covering a single subject in just a few easy clicks. Join forces with bloggers who offer similar information as your own blog, thus allowing readers the opportunity to remain within, and refer to your blog network as a reliable source of information. Blogs are always more powerful in numbers.

- RSS.

Often thought of as the fastest growing technology on the internet today, RSS can be added to your blog to offer regular feeds to your visitors. You can add a number of different feeds to the blog site to offer a variety of interests for your readers.

See how much the internet has evolved through blogging, and watch your business increase as you successfully utilise blogs as a tool for internet marketing.

Blogging to the Bank-3 Steps to Optimize Your Blog

Monday, November 16th, 2009

The blogging world these days keeps growing bigger and bigger before our eyes. Many people are tapping into the power that blogs have and are starting to make their own. The thing is though that many bloggers that are beginners tend to fail because they stop blogging out of frustration of not getting it right the first time. Blogging is an easy thing to do, but it is actually getting your blog to convert which is the hardest.

Today, I would like to go over some things that can help you out with the conversion of your blog, so you can make more money from it.

1. Content of Blog

You must have fresh unique content coming to your blog everyday. You pretty much want all unique content as you are trying to out beat other websites. A blog should only be about one topic and one topic only so you won’t confuse your reader as to what your point is.

You can be opinionated in your blog and you can write your posts as if you are having a conversation with your visitors. Getting on a one on one with your visitors will make them want to read more about your content.

2. Design of the Blog

Now, your blog does not have to look fancy or anything, but it is good to make it look clean and organized. Some people think that your blog has to stand out from others. In my opinion I have some blogs that look like other people’s blogs, but my content is much more informative then theirs.

A blog design should be easy to read and easy to navigate through. Blogger has many different templates you can choose to get your blog designed in a nice manner.

3. Traffic

Now, in order for people to even know that your blog exists, you must send traffic to it. There are people out there that have the nicest blogs that are very useful to read. But, they never end up sending traffic to it thinking that posting is enough. It is not; in fact you must send traffic to it daily at first to get the search engines to rank you. Once you get ranked in the search engines then you can slow down with manually sending traffic to it.

So, there are the top 3 things you should keep in mind when blogging. Although it may seem to be frustrating at first, you will eventually understand it.
